A Day in the Life of a Technical Support Consultant

In June 2024, Harry Percy, Support Consultant at Ramsac, delivered a Thomas Pocklington Trust (TPT) Skill Share session to Get Set Progress interns, employment seekers, students, Sight Loss Council volunteers and TPT employees.

Ramsac help clients to get the best out of technology – implementing, managing and supporting secure, resilient IT solutions. TPT are a Ramsac customer.

Harry delivered an engaging session enabling participants to get a real feel for ‘a day in the life of a support consultant’ and he was then able to share some additional tips and shortcuts using MS Office. The remote session was well attended and received some fabulous feedback from attendees.

Earlier this year Denis Rama, Field Support Consultant delivered a similar session to another group of TPT customers which was also a great success.

“It was great to be able to share some of the tips and tricks I’ve picked up in my role and gain insight into the potential challenges of using Windows as a VI user. This will inform my approach with supporting VI users in the future and allow me to deliver a higher quality of service. Thank you TPT for the opportunity to be part of such a valuable session.”

“Both Harry and Denis were able to share a day in the life of a Support Consultant with ease, enabling attendees to get a real flavour of what it might be like to work in that kind of role. It was of particular interest for some of our interns who are currently placed in the technical support sector. The hints and tips were really helpful too, I think everybody learned something new including myself!”
