Social Media in the Workplace by Mace Group

In June 2024, Evgeniya Vyaltseva, Social Media Manager and JJ deSwardt, Associate Director, Marketing & Communications, at Mace Group delivered a Thomas Pocklington Trust (TPT) Skill Share session. Engaging Get Set Progress interns, employment seekers, students, Sight Loss Councilvolunteers and TPT employees.

Mace Group is a global expert in shaping the built environment, helping to lead the way to a more connected, resilient, and sustainable world.

Evgeniya and JJ kindly shared their skill set, providing a comprehensive overview of the different types of social media platforms and social media algorithms, as well as LinkedIn profile optimisation and lots of tips and tricks to use social media effectively, on both a personal and business level.  It was also great to hear about their career journeys too within social media and marketing communications.  The remote session was well attended and received some fabulous feedback from attendees.

“Presenting for Thomas Pocklington Trust was a fantastic opportunity for our team. Not only were we able to share our knowledge and skills, but we also learned a lot in the process of creating and presenting to those who may have reduced sight or blindness. The experience was both enriching and enlightening, and it taught us the importance of accessibility and inclusion in all aspects of our work. It was an honour to collaborate with TPT and we are grateful for the opportunity to have made a positive impact. We look forward to future collaborations and continued learning in this area.”

“I attended a webinar which provided an Overview of Using Social Media Effectively, and found it highly useful and informative. The hosts were very friendly and presented the content in a very clear and easy to understand manner. I am new to using social media and they gave some really useful advice on how to increase views on both on YouTube and LinkedIn which I can apply immediately. They also answered all of my questions to great satisfaction. A fantastic session and highly recommended.”
