A series of videos demonstrating the accessible technology blind and partially sighted people use to perform tasks in the workplace as well as their fully sighted colleagues.
University can be a brilliant experience, a chance to make lifelong friends, learn new skills and be the pathway into a new and exciting career. It can also seem quite a daunting task to undertake, where do you start? Don’t worry, we are here to help! Our handy ‘Six Steps into University’ guide covers everything you need to continue your educational journey.
The six step guidance is based on the experiences of 30 young people with vision impairment who have made the transition into Higher Education. It is from the Longitudinal Transitions Study conducted at the Visual Impairment Centre for Teaching and Research (VICTAR) at Birmingham University, funded by the Nuffield Foundation, RNIB and Thomas Pocklington Trust.
This guidance has been adapted from a project funded grant from the Department for Education to National Sensory Impairment Partnership (NatSIP) to provide specialist information, advice, support and training to improve outcomes for young people with sensory impairments. The original guidance was hosted by RNIB.
